Leslie R. Davis, D.M.D.

Dr. Leslie R. Davis is a general dentist who has been practicing dentistry for over 37 years. He was born and raised in Louisville's east end near Bowman Field and while in English class in the ninth grade at Seneca High School decided that dentistry would be his life's work.  After graduating from Seneca in May of 1964 he attended Indiana University in Bloomington for two years majoring in Zoology.  He transferred to U of L for his junior year and took early acceptance to the University of Louisville School of Dentistry freshman class entering in September of 1967.  Dr. Davis graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in May of 1971.  He was accepted as a Resident in Prosthetic Dentistry at the prestegious VA Hospital in Chicago and associated dental school at Loyola University in Maywood Illinois. When he finished his formal training in June of 1973, he returned to Louisville and went into private practice.  In 1979 he, along with renowned oral surgeon Max M. Behr, DMD, placed and restored their first implant case as a team.  In 1985 Drs. Behr and Davis built their state of the art dental office in the Outpatient Care Center at Jewish Hospital.  During the next 20+ years Dr. Davis was a member on the staff in the department of Surgery at Jewish Hospital.  For over 23 years the Behr/Davis team placed and restored over twenty thousand implants in over 4300 patients ranging from simple single tooth replacements to the most complicated full mouth reconstruction cases. To date we believe that over 95% of these cases are still functioning satisfactorily.  Dr. Behr retired in the spring of 2008 but still teaches in the department of oral surgery at the U of L School of Dentistry.

In August 2005, Dr. Davis was joined in private practice by daughter Dr. Rachel H. Davis.  In February 2007 they formed the Davis Dental Center, PSC and in May of 2008 moved into their new "state of the art", 3000 sq. ft. office at 902 Dupont Road.  "Daddy Davis" enjoys all the aspects of general dentistry and strives to treat all of his patients with dignity, respect, and competance.  He belongs or has belonged to many of the major academies and organizations of Reconstructive and Implant Dentistry, including the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics (Mastership Diploma) and many others including but not limited to The Louisville Aesthetic Dental Society, American Dental Association, Kentucky Dental Association, Louisville Dental Society and Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity where he held the office of President.
